A frozen shoulder cannot always be prevented; the cause is often unknown. The risk is higher in people with diabetes and following a shoulder injury or operation, amongst other things.
Continue to move your shoulder gently within the limits of what is possible and follow any restrictions advised by your doctor. Do not force any movements that cause pain. Good posture or a stretching programme does not guarantee that you will not develop frozen shoulder. Read more at Home doctor.co.uk.
