Parkinson's

Parkinson’s disease can make it more difficult to move around and carry out everyday activities. Physiotherapy can help you to keep moving and practise activities that are important to you. The neurologist oversees the medical treatment.

What is Parkinson's disease?

Parkinson’s disease is a brain disorder. People with this condition can experience a wide range of symptoms. Did you know that no two patients have exactly the same symptoms of Parkinson’s? You can find out which symptoms are most common below.

  • Trembling hands, legs, chin or tongue
  • Difficulty starting movements, becoming slower in performing certain movements
  • Muscle stiffness
  • Problems with posture and balance
  • With longer duration of the disease, the risk of falling increases
  • The legs can 'freeze', as it were, while walking. This makes the feet appear to stick to the floor.

If your symptoms persist or keep recurring, you can discuss with FRISKFYSIO Amstelveen which exercise programme is right for you. During your first appointment at FRISKFYSIO Amstelveen, you’ll have a consultation and a thorough assessment, and one of our professionals will analyse your symptoms. Based on the results, we’ll determine which treatment is best suited to your condition(s). We will then draw up a clear treatment plan together, and you will be given exercises to do at home via our own FRISK App.
