Physiotherapist in training
About Job
My name is Job, I’m 22 years old and I live in Amstelveen. I’m currently in my final year of the Physiotherapy degree programme at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA). During my final-year placement at FRISKFYSIO, I have the opportunity to develop further as a physiotherapist and to further improve my practical skills.
My interest in physiotherapy stems, amongst other things, from my interest in human anatomy and physiology. I find it fascinating to understand how the human body functions and what happens when someone develops a complaint or injury. What I love about physiotherapy is that you can then apply this knowledge in practice to genuinely help someone. Supporting people and contributing to their recovery and well-being is therefore a key motivation for me in this profession.
My interests also lie mainly in sport. I’m very interested in strength sports and motor sport, and I enjoy keeping active in my spare time. I also love being outdoors and enjoy spending time with family and friends.
During my training, I gained experience at various physiotherapy practices, working with a wide range of patient groups and conditions. For example, I undertook a placement at Fysio Designers, formerly the Centre for Physiotherapy and Manual Therapy, in Vleuten. There, I gained a great deal of experience with patients with neurological conditions and learnt to recognise and treat various neurological problems.
I also undertook a work placement at Fysiotherapie AHG in Amsterdam. There, I encountered a wide range of clinical presentations and gained experience working with patients of various ages. These experiences have helped me to develop further, both professionally and personally, and have further strengthened my interest in the field of physiotherapy.
During my final-year placement at FRISKFYSIO, I aim to further develop both my physiotherapy skills on the treatment table and in the exercise room. I want to further deepen my knowledge and practical skills and learn to support patients more effectively and independently. In doing so, I believe it is important to look not only at the symptoms, but also at the person behind them.
Once I have completed my studies, I would like to continue developing my career within the field of physiotherapy. I intend to continue my studies and further expand my knowledge and skills, so that I can ultimately continue to develop into a skilled and dedicated physiotherapist.
I am at the practice on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. I look forward to putting my knowledge and enthusiasm to good use and hope, in this way, to make a valuable contribution to the practice and to my clients’ health.
