Lucian
Physiotherapy assistant and Senior Physio Fitness trainer
My name is Lucian and I will be doing my senior internship at FRISKFYSIO in the first half of 2024. I already got to know FRISKFYSIO at the end of 2023 because I also had the opportunity to do my junior internship here. During my current internship, I want to continue the line started during the junior internship to further professionalise myself as a physiotherapist in training.
I grew up in Boekelo, a small village next to Enschede, where I have always enjoyed living. In August 2020, I moved to the Uilenstede student campus in Amstelveen for my bachelor of movement sciences (at the Vrije Universiteit). From a very young age, I have been very interested in the human body, which made my choice of movement sciences easy to explain. However, during the corona pandemic, movement sciences did not offer what I was looking for at that time, so I started studying physiotherapy at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam. To seek more challenge within my physiotherapy training, I started a three-year in-depth course in top-level sports physiotherapy in my second year of study, guided by physiotherapists from AFC Ajax. In this way, I managed to link the affinity with top-level sport well with my education.
Besides my studies, I row (at the Bosbaan) at the student rowing association R.S.V.U. 'Okeanos', where I can be found many days a week. I am both rowing and coaching within the association. In addition, I am also part of the Competition Committee and therefore visit many different rowing weekends throughout the Netherlands. Besides rowing, I can be found in the gym several times a week, to stay active in another way.
Within FRISKFYSIO, I want to take a follow-up step in my training as a physiotherapist and hope to translate my passion for top-level sport back into practice. In addition, I want to link the aim from exercise science, regarding the prevention of complaints, to my learning process. Ultimately, I would like to apply treatment in such a way that complaints can be prevented in the future.
