However, the movement-based care we provide through physiotherapy will mostly take place online. That might sound strange, as many people think that physiotherapy is solely a hands-on profession. But even remotely, we can provide advice and offer exercises to reduce symptoms and tackle their underlying causes. How exactly does such a virtual session work?

Supplies online physiotherapy

It’s actually very simple. You’ll need a mobile phone, a laptop or a tablet, an email account and an internet connection. This way, we can send you a questionnaire, discuss things with you, and demonstrate and send you exercises.

The intake form

Firstly, we will send you an intake form by email. By answering the questions on this form, we will already gain a general idea of your symptoms and will be able to discuss them in detail during the telephone or online intake consultation.

The intake interview (online or over the phone)

During the initial consultation, we will discuss your symptoms with you, what you are feeling and when they bother you. This will lead to a diagnosis. It may not always be possible to make a diagnosis remotely. If this is the case, we will work with you to find a bespoke solution. Should a face-to-face appointment be necessary, we will, of course, follow the guidelines of the KNGF (our professional association).

Digital practice schedule

Following your diagnosis, we will advise you on what you can do at home to alleviate your symptoms. You will receive a personalised exercise programme (with accompanying videos of our exercises) via email or the app. If you wish, we can go through the exercises with you via a video call. Physical treatments cannot be carried out remotely. Should these prove necessary for your recovery and cannot be postponed, we will discuss a bespoke solution with you.

Progress and follow-up appointment

We will continue to monitor your progress closely, even remotely. In follow-up appointments by telephone or video call, we will discuss any issues you are facing, how your symptoms may be changing, and make adjustments where necessary.

Make an appointment!

It requires a bit of creativity and flexibility from both you and us, but this way we can still help you. Would you like to make an appointment to discuss the options for your specific symptoms? Please call 085-5000333, send an email to info@friskfysio.nl or fill in the contact form on our website.
