* The rates quoted apply to the calendar year 2026. FRISKFYSIO reserves the right to amend the rates during the calendar year. In the event of any changes, the updated price list will be published, stating the new effective date.<\/p>\n

** FRISKFYSIO has a 24-hour cancellation policy. An appointment that is not cancelled, or is cancelled less than 24 hours before it is due to start, may be charged to the client at 100 per cent of the rate for the booked treatment. An appointment that is missed or not cancelled in good time will not be reimbursed by the health insurer.<\/p>\n

*** The private rates quoted apply where the treatment is not reimbursed by the health insurer or where the client pays for the treatment themselves. The actual reimbursement depends on the health insurance policy, the policy terms and conditions, the medical indication and any contractual agreements with the health insurer.<\/p>\n

**** Clients are responsible for checking their own insurance cover and policy terms and conditions. FRISKFYSIO can provide general information about reimbursement, but the final assessment and the amount of the reimbursement are determined by the health insurer.

No cover, or insufficient cover, for physiotherapy? Our packages offer a solution<\/h2>\n

Not everyone has supplementary insurance covering physiotherapy. It may also be the case that you have used up your available reimbursement allowance for the year.<\/p>\n

If your treatment is not covered, or is not fully covered, by your health insurer, FRISKFYSIO\u2019s standard rates will apply.<\/p>\n

We also offer physiotherapy packages. These allow you to choose a fixed number of sessions in advance at a clear-cut rate.<\/p>\n

When are our packages suitable?<\/h3>\n

Our treatment and subscription packages may be of interest to you if:<\/p>\n

\u2022 does not have supplementary insurance covering physiotherapy<\/p>\n

\u2022 are reimbursed for fewer treatments than you need<\/p>\n

\u2022 you have used up your entire allowance for the year<\/p>\n

\u2022 want clarity on the costs in advance<\/p>\n

\u2022 expect to need several treatments<\/p>\n

Is physiotherapy included in the basic package?<\/h2>\n

Physiotherapy and exercise therapy are partially covered by the basic health insurance package.<\/p>\n

Whether your treatment is covered by basic health insurance depends, amongst other things, on your age, your condition or medical indication, and the relevant terms and conditions.<\/p>\n

Many standard physiotherapy treatments are not covered by basic health insurance. You can take out supplementary insurance to cover these.<\/p>\n

The terms and conditions of your own health insurer always take precedence.<\/p>\n

Reimbursement for physiotherapy under basic insurance<\/h2>\n

Insured persons aged 18 and over with a chronic condition<\/h3>\n

If you have a condition that appears on the national list of chronic conditions eligible for physiotherapy and exercise therapy, treatment will be covered by the basic health insurance from the 21st session onwards.<\/p>\n

The first 20 treatment sessions are not covered by basic health insurance. You will need to pay for these yourself or, depending on your supplementary insurance, they may be covered in full or in part.<\/p>\n

The first 20 treatments apply per chronic condition and not again per calendar year.<\/p>\n

For most conditions on the chronic conditions list, there is no set maximum number of treatments from the 21st treatment onwards, provided the treatment remains medically necessary. However, a maximum treatment duration does apply to some conditions.<\/p>\n

Your physiotherapist or health insurer can provide you with information about the conditions that apply to your specific condition.<\/p>\n

Urinary incontinence<\/h3>\n

In the case of urinary incontinence, up to 9 sessions of pelvic physiotherapy are covered by the basic health insurance.<\/p>\n

These treatments may be spread over a period of up to 12 months, starting from the first treatment.<\/p>\n

For insured persons aged 18 and over, these treatments are subject to the compulsory excess.<\/p>\n

Physiotherapy for children up to 18 years of age<\/h3>\n

For children and young people up to the age of 18, the basic health insurance offers more generous reimbursement options.<\/p>\n

Initially, a maximum of 9 sessions of physiotherapy or exercise therapy are covered.<\/p>\n

If these treatments do not produce satisfactory results, the health insurer may reimburse up to 9 additional treatments. This means that a maximum of 18 treatments can be reimbursed.<\/p>\n

If a child has a condition that appears on the national list of chronic conditions, all necessary treatments may be reimbursed under the basic insurance scheme. For some conditions, a maximum treatment duration may apply.<\/p>\n

There is no compulsory excess for children under the age of 18.<\/p>\n

Intermittent claudication<\/h3>\n

Intermittent claudication is also known as \u2018window-shopping legs\u2019.<\/p>\n

For this condition, up to 37 sessions of supervised exercise therapy are covered under the basic health insurance scheme.<\/p>\n

The treatments may be spread over a period of up to 12 months, starting from the first treatment.<\/p>\n

Whether a treatment is fully reimbursed may also depend on the terms and conditions of your policy, the agreements in place and any other conditions set by your health insurer.<\/p>\n

Osteoarthritis of the knee or hip<\/h3>\n

In the case of osteoarthritis of the knee or hip, up to 12 sessions of supervised exercise therapy are covered under the basic health insurance scheme.<\/p>\n

This allowance applies for a period of 12 months.<\/p>\n

If further physiotherapy is required afterwards, this may be covered by supplementary insurance.<\/p>\n

COPD<\/h3>\n

For COPD from GOLD stage II onwards, supervised exercise therapy is covered by basic health insurance from the start of treatment.<\/p>\n

Since 1 January 2025, there has no longer been a statutory maximum number of treatments for this.<\/p>\n

Together with your physiotherapist, you will decide how many sessions are appropriate and necessary in your situation.<\/p>\n

In the case of GOLD stage I COPD, supervised exercise therapy based on this specific indication is not covered by the basic health insurance package.<\/p>\n

Rheumatoid arthritis<\/h3>\n

In cases of rheumatoid arthritis with severe functional limitations, long-term, personalised, supervised active exercise therapy may be reimbursed under the basic health insurance scheme.<\/p>\n

The reimbursement applies from the first treatment.<\/p>\n

No statutory maximum number of treatments has been set for this reimbursement. However, the conditions applicable to this specific indication must be met.<\/p>\n

Axial spondyloarthritis<\/h3>\n

From 1 January 2026, long-term, personalised, supervised active exercise therapy for adults with axial spondyloarthritis and severe functional limitations will be covered by the basic health insurance scheme.<\/p>\n

Axial spondyloarthritis was previously known, amongst other names, as Bechterew\u2019s disease.<\/p>\n

The reimbursement applies from the first treatment, and there is no statutory maximum number of treatments.<\/p>\n

However, the conditions applicable to this specific indication must be met.<\/p>\n

Do I need a referral for physiotherapy?<\/h2>\n

In principle, you do not need a referral from your GP or specialist to attend a regular physiotherapy session.<\/p>\n

You can book an appointment directly with a physiotherapist.<\/p>\n

Additional conditions may apply to certain specific types of care or reimbursements. If in doubt, therefore, always check the terms and conditions of your health insurer.<\/p>\n

Excess and physiotherapy<\/h2>\n

If you are aged 18 or over and your physiotherapy or exercise therapy is covered by your basic health insurance, the costs are, in principle, subject to the compulsory excess.<\/p>\n

The statutory excess will be \u20ac385 in 2026.<\/p>\n

Physiotherapy covered by supplementary insurance is not subject to the compulsory excess.<\/p>\n

Reimbursement under the supplementary insurance scheme<\/h2>\n

Many physiotherapy treatments are covered by supplementary health insurance.<\/p>\n

The number of treatments you are reimbursed for and the conditions that apply vary depending on your health insurer and your insurance package.<\/p>\n

It is therefore important to check the terms and conditions of your own policy.<\/p>\n

Your physiotherapist can provide you with general information about the reimbursement of physiotherapy, but the final decision on whether you are entitled to reimbursement rests with your health insurer.<\/p>\n

Is FRISKFYSIO affiliated with health insurers?<\/h2>\n

Yes. FRISKFYSIO has contracts with Dutch health insurers.<\/p>\n

If your treatment is eligible for reimbursement under your insurance policy, in many cases we can claim the costs directly from your health insurer.<\/p>\n

The actual reimbursement depends on your insurance, your policy, your medical condition and your health insurer\u2019s terms and conditions.<\/p>\n

If you do not have supplementary insurance, have used up your available cover in full, or if your treatment is not covered, our standard rates will apply.<\/p>\n

In that case, our treatment and subscription packages may be a suitable and cost-effective option.<\/p>\n

FRISKFYSIO is happy to provide you with as much information as possible about the general rules governing the reimbursement of physiotherapy.<\/p>\n

However, your health insurer\u2019s policy terms and conditions always take precedence. The final decision on reimbursement is made by your health insurer.<\/p>\n
