My name is Kilian ter Meer and I work as a specialised podiatrist within the Paramedic Centre on Amsterdamseweg. With a strong interest in investigating and treating biomechanical abnormalities of the musculoskeletal system, I mainly focus on improving the overall function and health of the musculoskeletal system in my patients. My approach always focuses on creating a tailor-made treatment that optimises the patient's quality of life.<\/p>\n

My Treatment Options
\nAs a podiatrist, I have a wide range of treatment options to effectively address a variety of lower extremity complaints. This ranges from simple preventive care to complex treatments for severe biomechanical abnormalities. For example, I treat conditions such as foot problems, knee and hip problems, as well as pain problems resulting from abnormal gait patterns.<\/p>\n

Holistic and Multidisciplinary Approach
\nI value a holistic approach, where all parts of the musculoskeletal system are carefully examined. This enables me to correctly identify the cause of the symptoms and develop an effective treatment strategy. I make sure that treatment does not only focus on symptom relief, but also on the underlying problem. Here, cooperation is essential. I consider the close cooperation between podiatry and physiotherapy at FRISKFYSIO to be an ideal combination for remedying musculoskeletal complaints. The dynamic, active approach of the entire multidisciplinary team within FRISKFYSIO creates an optimal treatment climate in which you, the patient, are central. This working method ensures a comprehensive and fully integrated approach to your complaints, with the aim of sustainable improvement and recovery.<\/p>\n

What does a podiatrist do?
\nThe podiatrist is a specialist in examining, diagnosing and treating complaints related to the lower extremities, such as feet, ankles, knees and hips. The podiatrist treats the following conditions, among others:<\/p>\n

Abnormalities in the function of the lower extremities: This refers to complaints caused by improper loading, such as overloading of the feet or knee problems due to an abnormal walking pattern.
\nStance abnormalities: These are structural abnormalities, such as a flat foot or a raised foot arch, that affect posture and movement.
\nDiagnostics and foot care in diabetic patients: Diabetics have an increased risk of foot problems, such as wounds or infections, for which I provide specific care and treatment.
\nSkin disorders and nail problems: From calluses and corns to ingrown toenails, I offer expert care and treatment for a variety of foot and skin problems.
