About Kelsey<\/strong><\/p>\n

My name is Kelsey and I am 23 years old. I grew up in Amstelveen and have lived here all my life. In 2024, I graduated from the Academy of Physical Education, where I obtained my Bachelor of Education in Physical Education. During my final year at the ALO, I also completed the first year of the Physiotherapy course. I am currently in the second year of the Physiotherapy course at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam. In the future, I hope to combine my ALO degree and the Physiotherapy course so that I can both teach and be an active physiotherapist.<\/p>\n

I have just finished my internship at FRISKFYSIO and am currently working in the exercise room. My passion for physiotherapy stems from my desire to help people and my fascination with the human body and how it works. A key moment that reinforced my interest in physiotherapy was the process of my grandfather learning to walk again with a lower leg prosthesis. It was inspiring to see how his joy and self-confidence grew as he progressed. That moment confirmed my choice of this profession.<\/p>\n

Sport has always played a central role in my life. I am a black belt holder, first dan, in taekwondo. Besides my own training, I also teach. Taekwondo has shaped me both physically and mentally and teaching gives me a lot of energy. I also have a grooming pony that I spend a lot of time with. Whether training, walking or grooming, I enjoy working with animals and being outdoors. I can also regularly be found at the gym or in the woods for a run or a walk. Movement is essential for me, not only for my health, but also as a way to clear my head.<\/p>\n

My goal within physiotherapy is not only to help people, but also to work preventively. I want to use my knowledge of sports and how the body works to prevent complaints and improve overall health. My background at the ALO gives me a broad perspective, allowing me to combine theory and practice well. I am motivated to develop further as a physiotherapist and use my knowledge of sport and exercise to help people achieve and maintain their physical goals.<\/p>\n
